Did You Know?
- Noah built a real boat that carried him through a real global flood.

- You align your thinking with only one of two opposing worldviews.
- The Chinese language tells the story of Creation.
- God has a plan for the universe and we are part of it.
- The Bible but not Evolution is compatible with true science.
- Man lived with dinosaurs that were on Noah’s Ark.
- A 1/40th scale Grand Canyon was created in a matter of months.
- Carbon 14 dating supports a young earth.
- Immortality is available to everyone.
- Evolution contradicts many laws of science.
- Natural Selection is evidence for Creation.
- The Bible has an answer about extra-terrestrials.
- The Gospel message is irrelevant if Creation is not true.
These are some of the matters that will be presented in this blog. My ultimate purpose is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ by showing that a Biblical creationist worldview is reasonable and aligns best with reality.
Our ideas have consequences. How we believe the universe came into existence is a foundational issue – it matters. If we realize we have one true God as our Creator, we must accept our accountability to Him as a holy and perfect God, worthy of our worship, trust and obedience. He has every right to separate us from Himself as Judge because we all fall short of his righteous standards – we’re all sinful.
However, as a loving and compassionate God, He became flesh in the person of Jesus Christ and dwelt among us. He lived a perfect life and became a spotless Sacrifice. He gave His life for us on a cruel cross to Redeem us from the penalty of our sin. If we would repent and put our faith in Him, He will forgive us, save us, and sustain us in an abundant life through the power of His Holy Spirit, and ultimately give us a home in heaven. My hope is that this blog points you to our awe-inspiring Creator and Savior.
But why should you read this blog? Who is this guy writing it? Let me tell you a little about myself.
I grew up with a nominally Protestant background. My parents were good, moral people and although we somewhat regularly attended church (Sunday morning only of course), I never heard the true Gospel. That is, the “Good News” of why Jesus death, burial, and resurrection was important to me PERSONALLY. That’s because I never heard the “bad news” that I was a sinner and condemned to be separated from God in eternity and needed a Savior (Romans 3:23, John 3:18, Romans 6:23a).
Maybe some of you can relate to my relativistic thinking that as long as I did my best and didn’t commit some heinous crime like murder, I was sure God would let me into heaven. Surely my good would outweigh my bad. But, of course a basic reading of the Bible tells us it doesn’t work that way. It says we are totally lost before a holy God, that there are not enough “good works” that we can do to earn eternal life. It is a gift (Titus 3:5, Ephesians 2:8,9; Romans 6:23b).
Well, finally by the time I had been in college a few years, I heard the true Gospel but my sinful pride kicked in. I did not want to surrender my will to Jesus Christ. But God is a patient and loving God and He, the Holy Spirit, didn’t give up on me. He kept bringing people and situations into my life and convicting me of my need for salvation. Finally a few years after I had earned a couple of college degrees and was serving in the US Air Force, I surrendered my heart to Christ and He gloriously saved me.
But let me back up for a moment. Before becoming a Christian I was your typical college student who was more interested in passing tests and graduating than really investigating the things I was being taught. Therefore I accepted Evolution to be true and scoffed at my Creationist roommate. My first degree was in Geophysics from Virginia Tech, and geology is saturated with evolution. So I got a good dose.
After that, I received a degree in Meteorology from the University of Utah, still as an evolutionist. Then I became a Christian and was confronted with a decision as to whether I could fit evolution into the Bible. Well, for several reasons which I will elaborate more on in this blog, I decided that evolution was not compatible with the Bible.
After this, I completed one more degree, this time it was a Masters of Science in Information and Computer Science from Georgia Tech. Although I did not have the opportunity to research the topic at the time, information is a key element of God’s design, particularly as it relates to DNA in living organisms.
In time I completed a 20-year career in the US Air Force as a meteorologist and later moved on to teach Math, Science and other courses in high school for 20 years. Over most of these many years I have been a student of the Bible and although the more I learn, the more I realize I don’t know, God’s Spirit has helped me understand much about His wonderful Word.
My hope and prayer is that this blog will have an impact as either a challengeto non-Christians to seriously consider the claims of the Christian faith or as an encouragement to Christians so they will have more confidence in the entire Bible starting in Genesis and grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ (2 Peter 3:18).
