Scripture correlates three times in history when the severe judgment of God is upon ungodly people committing egregious sexual sins – in the days of Noah (Genesis 6), in the days of Lot in Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 19), and in the day when Christ will be revealed at the Rapture to judge “defiling dreamers” (Jude 1:8) – a day which surely could be soon.

Luke 17:26-30  … in the days of Noah, … Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot;… Even so will it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

 It seems that God is very protective of His magnificent procreative design of the human body, which houses His image (Genesis 1:27) AND His Holy Spirt for those who are saved.

1 Corinthians 6:18-20 Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore, glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

The common thread in these three historical events is a widespread corruption of God’s perfect plan for sex and procreation – one man and one woman in the context of marriage.  This is not surprising, because it is the natural outgrowth of the rejection of God, particularly as Creator.

 Romans 1:18-28  For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, … 20  For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, … 22  Professing to be wise, they became fools, … 24  Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, … 26  For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased (reprobate) mind, to do those things which are not fitting;

In Noah’s day we have the perversion of sexual relations between “sons of God” and women. Many Bible scholars believe these sons of God were fallen angels/demons who left heaven – their proper domain – to procreate with women. Satan sent his minions to spoil the Seed of Eve, the promised Messiah (Genesis 3:15). God not only brought on the global flood to rid the earth of their offspring “men of renown,” but He reserves a special judgment for these demons.

Genesis 6:1-8 1 Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them, 2 that the sons of God (demonic angels) saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves … 4 … and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown. 5 Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. … 8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

Jude 1:6  And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day;

 In Lot’s Day, God’s judgment on homosexuality (“going after strange flesh”) in Sodom and Gomorrah is well documented in scripture (Genesis 19:1-29).

Jude 1:7-8 as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. 8 Likewise also these dreamers defile the flesh, reject authority, and speak evil of dignitaries.

Today, we see the rejection of our Creator and the resulting sexual sin and perversion on every hand.  We would be wise to heed the warning of judgment on those who pervert sex today with their ungodly agendas of homosexuality, lesbianism, trans-genderism, pedophilia, and even bestiality.  Sexual sin of course includes heterosexual sins of adultery and fornication (sex before marriage) as a stench in the nostrils of God as well.  Adultery corrupts marriage, which is depicted in the New Testament as a union of Christ and His Church (Ephesians 5:25-29). Consider too that man is “playing God” as he delves into human cloning, destruction of life through abortion and embryonic (contrary to adult) stem cell research, and even test tube babies. The bioethical implications are huge in this area, and sadly the ethics are probably decades behind the technology.

How does this apply to us personally?  Let us be forewarned about any beguiling efforts of the “wicked one” to entice us into the sensual sins of the flesh.  In these end times it is obvious that Satan’s onslaught is especially intense in this area. Let us be diligent in championing God’s perfect plan for sex, marriage and the family.  Let’s not let the clamoring of the politically correct and “woke” postmodernists and humanists of our day drown out the clear teachings of scripture.  Sin in this area draws God’s severe judgment, as He sees his beautiful plan for the procreation of “his image” being perverted by the Satanically-inspired schemes of men.
