In view of the pandemic and many difficulties confronting us in our nation and others around the world, Christians should be employing their most powerful weapon – that of prayer to our Creator (Ephesians 6:18).  The following is a suggested framework of prayer for America or one’s nation.  Details and specifics can be added.

 

Sunday   Pray that we as Christians demonstrate the love of Christ to our “neighbors” (especially those who are struggling), and show unity to our Christian brethren, bearing with one another in humility.

Matthew 22:37-39 – Love God with all your heart, soul, and mind.  Love your neighbor as yourself.

Ephesians 4:2-6 – bearing one another in love…unity of spirit…one Spirit, hope, Lord, faith, baptism, God

Ephesians 5:15-17 – walk circumspectly…have wisdom to understand Lord’s will

Colossians 4:5,6 – wise toward those outside (God’s family)…redeem the time…gracious speech…know how to answer

 

Monday  Pray for the truth of the Gospel to be lifted up and embraced in America;   for success of evangelistic efforts by churches and mission organizations.

Ephesians 6:19-20 – open our mouths boldly to make known the Gospel…we are ambassadors.

John 14:6 – Jesus said, “I am the Truth.”

1 Peter 3:15 – sanctify the Lord…be ready to give an answer for our hope

Philippians 2:9-10 – exalt the name of Jesus.

 

Tuesday  Pray for success for those exposing to the light of truth corruption in government and business at all levels; that Judges and all entities would promote true justice.

Ephesians 5:11-14 – expose unfruitful works of darkness to the light

Matthew 5:14-16 – Christians are the light of the world…let it shine…do good works to glorify God

Proverbs 11:1 – dishonest business dealings are an abomination to the LORD.

 

Wednesday  Pray for our unsaved government leaders to be saved;  for blessing and wisdom for our saved leaders;  for success of legislation supporting righteous principles;  that leaders would realize their constitutional authority ultimately comes from God.

1 Timothy 2:1-4 – pray for those in authority…God desires all people to be saved.

Psalms 72:2 – He (the king) will judge Your people with righteousness, and Your poor with justice.

Romans 13:1-4 – government authorities are ordained of God; their job is to punish evil and reward good

Daniel 2:21 – God removes and raises up kings

 

Thursday   Pray for success for those upholding freedom of speech to disseminate truth and pulling down of Satan’s strongholds of darkness, ignorance, misinformation, and suppression of truth.

2 Corinthians 10:4,5 – our spiritual weapons are mighty thru God for pulling down (satanic) strongholds

Romans 1:18 – ungodly men suppress the truth

Luke 8:17- all “secrets” will be revealed and come to light

Eph 6:10-18 – put on the armor of God…we wrestle against the rulers of darkness

 

Friday  Pray for God’s sovereign will to be done for America (and the world); for repentance for ours and our national sins and revival; for national healing; that freedom of religion be upheld at all levels.

2 Chron 7:14 – If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Luke 22:42 – (Jesus said to God the Father) not My will, but Thine be done.

 

Saturday  Pray that we as God’s people would trust in God’s grace and remain faithful to Him and His Word in the light of increasing persecution

2 Corinthians 12:9 – God’s grace is sufficient

Galatians 6:9 – don’t be weary in doing right

Hebrews 12 – God chastens His children whom he loves

1 Corinthians 10:13 – we will not be given more trial than we are able to bear
