Denying the truth of Genesis is the “Mother of all lies.” Today, our culture is full of lies and misinformation.  We are fast approaching the situation in George Orwell’s classic, 1984, where the Ministry of Truth disseminated lies, propaganda and misinformation.  Our information gatekeepers (mainstream media and the tech giants) are currently in league with government and academia (“science”) to promote their own agenda. The Bible says woe to those “who call evil good, and good evil…” (Isaiah 5:20), “who change the truth of God into a lie…” (Romans 1:25a).  Satan of course is behind it all because he is the father of all lies. (John 8:44). Unfortunately, these purveyors of lies and the “woke” mentality use many tactics such as “cancel culture” to stifle honest debate and intimidate their opponents into silence.

As Christians, we must recognize this as a spiritual battle and speak out.  We must wisely speak the truth in love to our neighbors (Ephesians 4:15,25; Colossians 4:5,6) – truth found only in Jesus Christ and His Word. “…Let God be true, but every man a liar…” (Romans 3:4).

The Genesis account of creation and early earth history (Chapters 1-11) is the foundation of all truth and therefore to deny it is the Mother of all lies.  What are some lies that stem from this major insidious lie?

Lie #1

There is no Creator to whom we are accountable. Therefore, there is no absolute moral truth; morals are relative.  If morals are relative, then who says what is right and wrong? The truth is that our loving Creator has given us basic rules such as the Ten Commandments to follow so we may live in harmony with our fellow human beings.  We will all appear before our Creator some day to give an account for our lives.

Lie#2

Life originated and evolved by natural means.  When we attribute to the animals themselves their amazing traits and symbiotic relationships, we are “worshipping the creature more than the Creator” (Romans 1:25b). The truth is evolutionists have no good explanation for the origin of life in view of the complexity of DNA. Natural selection is a misnomer. Nature does not select, but animals adapt.  God created life and He designed into every kind of animal a genome with an amazing epigenetic ability to adapt to the environment.

Lie #3

Man is an evolved animal.  This is a huge lie, because it seeds many ideas. First, the idea that different “races” evolved to different levels – the root cause of racism, eugenics and Nazism.  Marxists/Communists distort this idea of “race” or “class” in order to intimidate, divide and oppress people. Second, that man is just a “parasitic” part of nature and no better than animals – the root cause of extreme environmentalism, animal rights (over human rights), and even abortion. The truth is that God created men and women in His image (Genesis 1:27) with intrinsic value and that we are all “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14-17).  Mankind is to have dominion over the animals (Genesis 1:28). There is “one blood,” one race, the human race (Acts 17:26), with many ethnicities, all created equal and endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights.

Lie#4

Man is basically good. Somehow society corrupts individuals. This supposedly absolves men and women of responsibility for their actions. The truth is that man’s heart is deceitful and wicked (Jeremiah 17:9). The theological term is depraved.  As a born sinner, a child does not have to be taught to be selfish and disobey. This truth is based on the “fall” of mankind in the Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve disobeyed God (Genesis 3, Romans 3:23, 5:12). It is also the basis of the Gospel and the fact that we need redemption. The task of parents is to train a child to reign in those selfish tendencies and see their need for Christ.

Lie #5

Traditional sexual mores and marriage are outdated. When we downplay fornication, co-habitation, divorce, or adultery, or promote so-called same-sex marriage, we play right into Satan’s hands – he loves destroying families. We are on the road to a society that not only celebrates the above, but which will eventually accept pedophilia and bestiality.  The truth is that there is only one version of marriage and God’s standard is abstinence until then.  God instituted marriage as a union between one man and one woman for life (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). Studies show that children develop much better with a married (committed) father and mother – boys especially with a father.

Lie #6

There are many genders. This rather new and biologically nonsensical lie is a favorite of Satan, because it is causing great confusion among many young people. Beyond all common sense, children are being irreparably harmed by adults who think they actually can or should change a child’s gender.  This is true child abuse.  Girls must now compete against boys in sports and accept boys in their locker rooms and restrooms.  The truth is that God created “male and female” (Genesis 1:27). There will never be more than two sexes/genders. We need to treat those with gender dysphoria with truth and compassion.

Lie #7

Man can catastrophically change the world’s climate. This lie is being foisted on the world with increasing urgency. As governments implement ill-conceived policies to combat so-called man-caused climate change, it will wreck some economies and distort others.  The poor will be especially vulnerable. The truth is that God is in control of our planet.  He has already laid out His future plan for planet earth and mankind.  It’s in the Bible if anyone cares to read it. At the time that Noah and his family disembarked the Ark, after the catastrophic, worldwide flood, God said the world’s climate would not change, that it would remain stable (Genesis 8:22). Scientists who predict climate catastrophe do so based solely on computer models which have historically been wrong.  Actually, world climate is cyclical and we are currently in a post Little Ice Age warming trend, but not due to increased carbon dioxide. In fact, there are strong indications that the warming caused by other factors is causing the increase in carbon dioxide.

These seven lies are just a few of all the lies that stem from the mother of all lies – a denial of the truth of creation and early earth history found in Genesis. They are all part of Satan’s agenda and hatred for mankind.  As the godly prophets of old, may we as Christians boldly speak out against the politically correct and woke perversions of the day.  We must refuse to live by these lies and act upon the truth.  Will be the last bastion of truth in these end times?
